The “True Manhood” campaign, under which “The True Manhood Contest” falls, is all about promoting behaviors in young men that put them at less or no risk of HIV. The campaign is about men who do what it takes to protect themselves from HIV by drinking responsibly or not at all, resisting “Something for Something” Love and choosing to solve problems with their partners non-violently.

How to Enter the “True Man” Contest:

1. Nominate a Ugandan man between the ages of 15-24 who you think is a “True Man.”
2. The nomination letter should give reasons why the young man you are nominating deserves to be honored as a “True Man”. Winning nominations will be young men who protect themselves from HIV, do not drink excessive alcohol and are non-violent.
3. Language:The nomination letter must be written in either English, 4Rs, Luganda or Lwo.
4. Delivery method: All nominations clearly marked “True Manhood Contest” should be posted to YEAH, P.O.Box 8734, Kampala or emailed to info@yeahuganda.org or enter online now
5. All nominations received will not be returned to and will remain the property of YEAH
6. Selection: This will be done by YEAH. Only letters that clearly indicate the names, age, telephone number and district contact of the writer and the person you are nominating will be considered\
7. Screening: All nominations will be screened by YEAH and the best 5 nominations in each region selected. The 5 nominees will compete during True manhood Quizzes in 5 regions of Uganda. A panel of Judges will select the regional winners.
8. Judges: People with proven integrity and credentials will be picked from each region and will grade the contestants.
9. Facilitation: YEAH will notify the 5 final contestants in each region, facilitate their travel to the award ceremony and cater for their upkeep wherever the ceremonies will take place.
10. Prizes: The winner in each region shall win a mobile phone, air time and other fabulous prizes.
11. Award ceremony: A ceremony to be held in each of the 5 regions will be organized by YEAH at dates and times to be communicated later.
12. Eligibility: Employees of YEAH and their immediate family members are not eligible.
