Partnerships are very important to Y.E.A.H. By working
with partners, Y.E.A.H is able to reach people at the community
level and to ensure a sustainable program which is owned
and financially supported by a wide range of stakeholders.
To date, Y.E.A.H’s partnerships have helped Y.E.A.H
to mobilize funds at national and regional level; to strengthen
collaboration among organizations working with young people;
to ensure the meaningful involvement of young people; and
to reach hundreds of thousands of people through face to
face communication.
In its first three years, Y.E.A.H established partnerships
with more than 400 organizations. These partners come from
both the public and private sector and operate at all levels
from community to national. Y.E.A.H partners also include
well-known personalities and celebrities who believe in
the mission of Y.E.A.H and who actively advance its causes.
Throughout the year, Y.E.A.H organizes regional and national
activities designed to nurture these partnerships. These
activities include:
- National Stakeholders Meeting held
in Kampala every year to promote Y.E.A.H materials and
encourage more partner participation
- Regional stakeholders meetings and health
fairs held periodically in each of the regions
to share Y.E.A.H materials and approaches and encourage
regional partners and stakeholders to use them as their
own.
- Training for partners and stakeholders.
Y.E.A.H provides training to partners and stakeholders
to orient them to campaign issues and prepare them to
use Y.E.A.H materials and approaches.
Y.E.A.H has received generous support from a number of
organizations which have contributed funding, in-kind contributions,
and have agreed to make Y.E.A.H a part of what they do.
