Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU)

RHU is committed to promoting high quality, high impact and gender-sensitive sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights information and services for vulnerable and most at risk populations of young people (15 – 30 years) in Uganda through capacity building, specialized services delivery, issue-specific advocacy and strategic partnerships.

Save the Children in Uganda (SCiU)

SCiU is a consolidated program of Save the Children Norway, Save the Children Denmark and Save the Children UK and is affiliated to the voluntary and humanitarian membership organization Save the Children Alliance, which works to advance children’s rights based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as its guiding principle.

Save the Children US (SCUS)

SCUS has initiated Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Heath activities through youth clubs benefiting youth, both in- and out-of-school, with life skills training. Over fifteen of these clubs are also benefiting from the development of “safe school policies” and “safe communities” where the rights of children, especially girls, are affirmed and protected. It includes a component on “responsible sexuality” and HIV/AIDS prevention, as well as cross-cutting activities in health, nutrition, and child rights, to assure that schools are environments conducive to learning, respectful of individual difference, provide psychosocial comfort, and promote positive role models.

RLO activities include:

  • Supporting and participating in Y.E.A.H activities by encouraging and inviting the participation of young people, ensuring support from local government and partnering with organizations with networks.
  • Coordinating, supervising and monitoring Y.E.A.H activities across the regions including community outreach and training trainers at the district level in the use of the Men and HIV/AIDS manual, trigger Videos and other community participatory approaches
  • Providing support supervision and follow up for trained participants.
  • Assisting Y.E.A.H. IU in planning, organizing and coordinating annual Stakeholders’ meetings, regional Youth Advisory Group (YAG) meetings and fairs.
  • Representing the Y.E.A.H. campaign at regional and district levels.
  • Committing 15% staff time to coordinating regional and YAG activities.
  • Providing input to the design of communication materials for the Y.E.A.H. campaign including reviewing and coordinating pre-testing by YAGs.
  • Advising Y.E.A.H. on funding opportunities to support Y.E.A.H. activities in the region.
  • Supporting the Y.E.A.H campaign by providing funding, logistics and other technical support.
